The new chair allows me to sit side-by-side with my students, providing support at their level without hovering.\r\n\r\nA highlight for me was seeing a group of students collaboratively debating which numbers to flip on the game board—they were talking about math, arguing about strategy, and laughing together. Our next step is to use the operation dice (plus/minus/multiply) to increase the difficulty of the game, challenging students to use higher-level thinking to win. The materials came quickly and went to use right away, as our October and November months were packed with many service activities. The materials that went straight to use were the markers and poster papers, for our Breast Cancer Awareness posters, in which we posted around our school campus and did a short presentation to the teachers whose classrooms were nearby where we taped the posters up. In addition, a new project that we started was an ongoing Teacher Assistant project, where students sign up to assist teachers with various tasks every Tuesday and Friday after school. I started offering the snacks that were donated through this project to the students when they returned after helping the teachers. They were all very grateful and excited to be given a snack after working hard.\r\n\r\nMy Key Club Officers and I are very grateful for the materials donated from this project, as it takes a lot of the pressure and burden off of us to provide these materials for our club. Prior to receiving this donation, I had to scrounge around my classroom for whatever materials I could find in order to fulfill the needs for projects. I would also ask the officers to donate snacks for our club meetings or gatherings, and I as the faculty advisor would also use my own money to buy drinks for the meetings. It has truly been a great relief to not only have a healthy supply of materials to use, but to also not have to rely on just myself or my officers to provide for our club, since we all give so much of our time and energy already.\r\n\r\nWe will continue using the poster-making supplies to bring awareness to various causes, and we have several beach cleanups scheduled for Spring Semester, which will use the other supplies we ordered like the gloves, buckets and trash bags. Any additional supplies are the responsibility of the teacher to obtain, and I am so grateful to you for helping me fill my classroom with supplies for my students and myself to use throughout the year!\r\n\r\nYour classroom supplies have enabled me to create personalized cell phone cases out of pencil cases to adhere to our \"No Cell Phone\" classroom policy that demonstrate my respect for their property, small snacks to use for activity prizes, facial tissues for stuffy noses, Clorox wipes and paper towels for activity clean up, colored pencils to create colorful anatomy models, and additional white board markers when the ink runs low so students can see the words vibrant on the board.
