The iPad case, Apple Pencil, and noise-canceling headphones have completely streamlined how I track goals, modify assignments, and deliver real-time feedback. Instead of spending extra time managing paperwork or navigating clunky tech transitions, I can immediately pull up a student's plan, adapt a visual tool or reading material on the spot, and give them the targeted support they need right when they need it most.\r\n\r\nBeyond the technology, the impact of the health and personal care essentials has been profound. Having access to quality mini toiletries and toothpaste in our room gives my high schoolers independence, dignity, and peace of mind. High school can be a challenging time, and simple necessities should never be a barrier to a student feeling comfortable and confident in class. My students were especially excited to see that we have dedicated supplies right here for them—it sent a powerful message that their comfort and basic needs matter to our entire community. We are expecting a much bigger turnout at our next event in September. \r\n\r\nIn total, we will host ten 3E Cafe events during the school day, as well as one after-school event each month starting in September. These projects allowed students to see how software and hardware work together in real-world systems.\r\n\r\nThe biggest impact was the shift in how they learned. Instead of only writing code on a screen, students were able to physically build, test, troubleshoot, and improve their designs. They experienced the full engineering process — from debugging wiring mistakes to refining their code when sensors didn't behave as expected. This was just what we needed! We already had good ventilation setup, but there still was a residual odor of burnt wood in the room where we house the laser. This particularly happened after the job was finished and we opened the laser to see the finished pieces. This helps clear up this issue perfectly!\r\n\r\nIn the our engineering classroom we do a variety of modern fabrication techniques. Traditionally we have done a lot of 3D printing, but this past year we were able to add a laser cutter to the mix. Getting it setup properly, so that it would be effective and safe for students, has been the main goal.
