So many students do not know the story these days. Moreover, in today's world it is essential that our youth have as many opportunities for character development as possible. The obvious divisions between the boys in the plane crash allow the students to see where the human and child psyche can go afoul quickly when we find ourselves in a \"dog eat dog\" type of environment. So, having these standing whiteboards we are able to get up and learning. Since they are movable I can also spread them out throughout our classroom to give them their own thinking space.\r\nI continue to start my math lessons with the use of number talks and using the movable whiteboards. Next, I would like to utilize these boards during our project-based learning where students do a lot more inquiry.
