The variety of treats, fidgets and sensory items are super popular, too. Students are especially enthusiastic about the individual tins of glitter and color-changing putty. Everyday before my 6th grade Study Skills class starts, my students gather on the beanbags and hang out. It's a really sweet moment of calm and community, and a rarity at middle school! When the bell rings and they head to desks, students often bring the lap-sized weighted blankets with them to help ground them during work time.\r\nThe snacks are a huge hit as well. Being able to offer calories to my sudents as they work increases their engagement and helps focus their effort on academics.
