By helping us bring hands-on resources and team-building materials into the room, you've given my ninth and tenth-grade students a much-needed break from the screens and an invitation to truly collaborate in a way that they are genuinely having fun.\r\nFor The Cask of Amontillado, ninth grade students recently worked in small teams using hands-on logic and deduction challenges to piece together Montresor's unreliable narration—debating motives, mapping out the catacombs, and analyzing suspense brick by brick. Meanwhile, our Animal Farm tenth grade groups have been tackling allegorical concepts through collaborative team-building activities that mirror the rise and fall of the farm's leadership. Seeing ninth and tenth graders out of their seats, actively debating power dynamics, and listening intently to one another without a single Chromebook in sight has been incredible.\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials arrive, their immediate reaction was excitement. They loved seeing that people they've never even met cared enough about their education to send physical, interactive tools to our room. That sense of community support made them feel special and motivated them to lean into the group activities with total enthusiasm right from day one.\r\nNext up, my students are taking their collaborative analysis to the next level. My ninth grade students are taking their collaborative analysis to the next level. For Romeo and Juliet, teams will be bringing pivotal scenes to life using low-cost costume accessories and creative staging, putting character motivation front and center. For Animal Farm, tenth grade students are wrapping up the novel by diving into creative choice projects—whether they are designing a Book Bento Box visual analysis, crafting an interactive character Instagram chat, or building a \"Historical Landmark\" tourist brochure for the farm. \r\nThank you once again for believing in our classroom and for giving my students the gift of hands-on, connected learning.
