PBIS is a prime component to teaching these students the exact skills through our morning meeting time, connections time, lessons and assemblies that they will use to earn points and build those taught skills. \r\nOnce students demonstrate the taught skills and earn the reward that is the tangible part of their reward, they fully understand the process and want to repeat it. Our students are not entering the next phase of PBIS since this has been an ongoing program at Hartley and students know what to expect and how to earn it. They especially loved the pictures to help with their drawings! They learned so much from these books and have an appreciation for taking care of their environment and protecting the sea turtles. Several students asked about being part of the Sea Turtle Patrol and want to help mark the nests and maybe even see them hatch and make their run for the ocean.\r\n We have started reading Stranded by Jeff Probst, and they were hooked from the first chapter!
