But once they saw the color options, they were ecstatic to choose a five-star notebook in their preferred color. They are truly grateful for the generosity. \r\n\r\nThey were able to start creating and decorating their scientific interactive notebook. The first science topic for fifth-grade students this year is all about stars and planets. The notebook will serve as a namesake for their work throughout the year. Their scientific notebook will also be helpful towards the end of the school year as state testing approaches. Our students have been working on a growth mindset project that will make an impact that hopefully lasts for their entire lives. It can be challenging for students to change their fixed mindset into growth mindset thoughts. However, we will continue to work on growing our brains' thoughts into growth mindset thoughts throughout the year. Students work on the worksheet and cut and paste it in their morning journal as a keepsake and a place to refer back to throughout the year. \r\n\r\nWhen I mentioned that a kind person donated the new scissors, glue sticks, and cleaning wipes to our classroom, they were so grateful. They take care of their supplies to show their appreciation.
