Each day students are reading books from our classroom library. We recently were in a reading competition with another school, and we did not run out of reading materials. There is now something of interest for every single student to read thanks to your very generous donation. \r\n\r\nAs you know, classroom teachers often find their classroom projects on their own. I spent a good part of my summer asking for chapter book donations from my local community. It was great receiving support, however, I did not receive much of a variety. That is where my Donors Choose Project came in. I was able to make a list of books that my students wanted to read that we did not have yet. If I were to buy books on my own, it would be maybe 1-2 new books a month. Thanks to this project, we received over 50 new high-quality books. These books will be loved for years to come. With the wonderful whole group read-aloud books, our students are not only learning the kindergarten standards but also developing important social-emotional skills. The stories and characters are fun, engaging, and age-appropriate, helping us build a strong sense of classroom community while also encouraging a love for reading.\r\n\r\nWe are especially grateful for the visual resources that give our students constant access to important learning tools. The alphabet charts, shape visuals, and counting references help our young learners build foundational literacy and math skills every day. These resources allow students to practice independently while reinforcing what they are learning in class.\r\n\r\nFinally, the hands-on tools have been such an exciting addition! From practicing tying their shoes to exploring the scale that teaches counting, addition, and inequalities up to ten, students are building confidence in both life skills and math concepts. These engaging tools bring learning to life in ways that are fun and meaningful for kindergarteners. Thank you for making this possible and for supporting our students' growth in so many areas.","fullyFundedDate":1755692767536,"projectUrl":"project/moving-to-kindergarten/9301196/","projectTitle":"Moving to Kindergarten!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. W.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4175609_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1482901392367","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4175609"},{"teacherId":3563438,"projectId":8812962,"letterContent":"I really appreciate your generosity for making this project happen. Many chose all four areas to be involved in.\r\nStudents were truly amazed that their hard work and dedication created such a positive reaction from the rest of the school population and their families. Students shared that the memorization skills that they learned has helped them to succeed with other classes, and has lessened the fear of getting up in front of others to speak.\r\nThey walked away from this experience with pride, self-worth, and the ability to communicate in large groups.
