The new cardboard cutting tools have completely transformed how we approach 3D design in the classroom. We recently used the ChompSaw during a cardboard sculpture project in which students designed and built original structures ranging from architectural models to wearable art. Instead of struggling with dull scissors and uneven cuts, students were able to make precise, clean shapes that helped their ideas look more polished and intentional. The improved accuracy gave them the confidence to attempt more complex builds and think more like real designers and makers.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, students will continue building on these skills through larger cardboard engineering challenges and collaborative sculpture projects. We are beginning to explore more advanced concepts like structural stability, joinery techniques, and functional design. Your support has opened the door to deeper creativity, stronger craftsmanship, and more meaningful hands-on learning. Thank you for giving my students the tools to turn imagination into reality.","fullyFundedDate":1763491193522,"projectUrl":"project/precision-cuts-limitless-creativity/9735563/","projectTitle":"Precision Cuts, Limitless Creativity","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. G.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3093947_orig.jpg?crop=1440,1440,x0,y211&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1619671242002","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/gaillard"},{"teacherId":3093947,"projectId":9093106,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, my students are now fully immersed in the world of printmaking! The new printmaking plates have transformed our classroom into a vibrant studio space filled with experimentation and discovery. We recently completed a relief printmaking project using the new print blocks, where students designed and carved their own images and then printed multiple copies. Watching them slow down, plan their compositions, and carefully transfer their designs into prints was incredibly rewarding. The hands-on process helped them truly understand texture, positive and negative space, and how artists think through layers.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, there was genuine excitement in the room. Students gathered around as I unpacked the print blocks and immediately started asking when they could use them. Many had never worked with real printmaking tools before, and having access to these materials made them feel like professional artists. Their confidence grew with each print they pulled, especially when they saw how their carved designs transformed into bold, repeatable images.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue building their printmaking skills by refining their techniques and experimenting with more complex designs and layered prints. They are beginning to understand how artists develop ideas through repetition, revision, and craftsmanship. Your support has given them access to materials that inspire creativity, patience, and pride in their work. Thank you for helping bring authentic art experiences into our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1746530010752,"projectUrl":"project/power-to-the-printmaking/9093106/","projectTitle":"Power to the Printmaking!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. G.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3093947_orig.jpg?crop=1440,1440,x0,y211&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1619671242002","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/gaillard"},{"teacherId":3093947,"projectId":9062024,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, my high school art students are now using stay-wet palettes—and the difference has been incredible! When the palettes arrived, the students were genuinely excited. One student said, \"Finally, I can come back tomorrow and not worry about my paint drying out!\" These palettes have transformed the way we approach acrylic painting in the classroom. Students can now work on longer, more detailed projects without the constant stress of wasted paint or rushing to finish before materials dry up.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the palettes during our final projects, which are entirely self-guided. Students have the freedom to choose their own subject matter and techniques, and the stay-wet palettes have allowed them to plan, layer, and refine their work at their own pace. Instead of starting over with new paint each day, they simply open their palettes and continue where they left off. This has not only improved the quality of their artwork but has also empowered them to take ownership of their creative process.\r\n\r\nYour donation didn't just provide materials—it gave my students the time, space, and confidence to explore their ideas deeply and thoughtfully. With the color printer, I'm now able to create vibrant, attention-grabbing handouts for students, including information on available scholarships, college opportunities, and other important updates. This has significantly improved student engagement and access to vital resources. In addition to supporting my own work, I've also been able to assist my fellow counselors by printing materials they need, creating a more collaborative and efficient counseling team overall. The shelf has helped keep the college information organized, making it easier for students to find what they need. The addition of high-quality watercolors, precision blending tools, versatile erasers, quality brushes, and sharpeners has made an incredible difference in my students' artistic experiences.\r\n\r\nBefore this project, many students struggled with limited and worn-out supplies, which often restricted their ability to fully explore their creativity. Now, they have the tools they need to bring their artistic visions to life with confidence. The vibrant watercolors allow them to experiment with color theory and blending, while the precision tools help them refine their techniques. I've seen students become more engaged, take more risks in their work, and develop a greater sense of pride in their creations.\r\n\r\nBeyond the technical skills, these supplies have also fostered a sense of excitement and joy in the classroom. Students who once hesitated to participate in art projects are now eager to explore new techniques and express themselves. Their confidence has grown, and they are producing artwork that truly reflects their individual styles and creativity.\r\n\r\nThis project has not only improved the quality of our art lessons but has also deepened my students' connection to the creative process.
