Because of your kindness, my student leaders had access to high-quality, decodable books grounded in the Science of Reading, along with thoughtfully designed lessons from Teachers Pay Teachers. These resources made a real difference—not just in improving reading skills, but in building confidence, curiosity, and a deeper love for learning. Your donation gave us the tools to meet students exactly where they are, helping them unlock the joy of reading one page at a time.\r\n\r\nAs our students grew in their reading ability, something incredible happened—they began to lead. These young readers took pride in their progress and wanted to share it with others. They started mentoring younger students, helping them read, and sharing their favorite books. The ripple effect of your generosity was felt across multiple grades, creating a small but powerful reading community fueled by student leadership and kindness.\r\n\r\nThis project was more than just materials—it was a movement. It showed our kids that with the right support, they can grow, lead, and inspire others. Thank you for believing in our students and for playing a vital role in building a culture of literacy and leadership. We are deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1747852829865,"projectUrl":"project/support-early-readers/9298404/","projectTitle":"Support Early Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sankarappan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9108841"},{"teacherId":9741601,"projectId":9530899,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our classroom has been transformed! When the personal whiteboards, pens, and erasers arrived, my students could hardly contain their excitement. As I handed each one their own set, there were gasps, smiles, and even cheers. One student hugged her whiteboard like it was a new toy!\r\n\r\nWe immediately put the materials to use during a math lesson on fractions. Students worked in pairs to model problems visually, holding up their boards to show their thinking. The whiteboards made it easy for them to revise answers, learn from mistakes, and explain their process—all without fear of \"getting it wrong.\" During community circles, we've even used the boards to respond to prompts and check in on how everyone is feeling.\r\n\r\nThese tools have made our learning environment more interactive, student-centered, and engaging. Instead of paper waste or passive participation, every student is now equipped to contribute instantly, reflect quickly, and collaborate more confidently.\r\n\r\n. With your help, we've taken a big leap forward in making learning hands-on and inclusive for every student. We have been able to do so much with it already this year. In the pictures shared, you can see some of the charts we've made. We regularly solve math problems using various strategies shared by students. We also wrote poems in English language arts to accompany our module on poetry. In ELD, we practiced the language for communicating cause and effect. We even had a chance to list 100 things we learned in our first 100 days of school. \r\n\r\nNot only has your kindness helped make learning more successful, it has helped honor student voice, celebrate accomplishments, and create memories.\r\n\r\nThank you from this year's class and next year's as we are set to hit the ground running on day one now :)","fullyFundedDate":1746497897271,"projectUrl":"project/learning-with-our-easel-is-easy/9201265/","projectTitle":"Learning With Our Easel is Easy!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Pervorse","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp108978_orig.jpg?crop=1057,1057,x42,y223&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721595301287","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/pervorse"},{"teacherId":108978,"projectId":8975264,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting my students' art experiences this year. From creating color wheels to sorting primary, secondary, and tertiary colors to distinguishing warm and cool colors, your generosity has helped us explore the world around us from an artistic perspective.\r\n\r\nToday, we worked on projects near and dear to our hearts. We began handprint flower art that we will share with our moms for Mother's Day. The students did a great job, wanting to be sure everything was done just right for their moms, grandmas, and aunties. I am excited for them to share the finished products, but also the process of creating their pieces.\r\n\r\nI look forward to more art time with my students as we wrap up state testing and head toward the end of the year. Students are coaching each other, explaining math concepts to help their fellow players be successful, and are working on how to win and lose gracefully -- the latter being a bit challenging for us, still.\r\n\r\nThank you, again, for supporting our learning and helping us do it in an engaging way!","fullyFundedDate":1731551674520,"projectUrl":"project/gettin-our-math-game-on/8510383/","projectTitle":"Gettin' Our Math Game On!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Pervorse","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp108978_orig.jpg?crop=1057,1057,x42,y223&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721595301287","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/pervorse"},{"teacherId":3702781,"projectId":8841673,"letterContent":"I received the materials in November and want to share with you the impact your donation has had on the students I serve.\r\n\r\nAs you may remember from my initial request, I am a reading intervention teacher. My focus is on students who struggle in reading. Some of these students have given up after years of being let down by those tasked with teaching them the skills needed to become fluent readers. Others believe that they will never be able to read or that they just are not smart enough. My goal is to change this mindset. How I do that is through the skills I teach them, the celebration of successes; large or small and lastly through your donation to my project.\r\n\r\nThe phonics readers that I was able to get for the students I serve has been a game changer in my instruction. The students love the fact that they can use their skills to sound out words, to discover many of the word patterns that they have been studied and to be able to apply their learning to actual reading with out have to guess or look at the pictures for help. Each day the students are eager to read. These books have had a greater impact than what I have imagined.
