Students from other classes have come to my classroom door during homeroom or after school, asking to borrow from my new collection. Engagement is one of the most essential components of reading comprehension, and seeing students so excited about reading and so engaged in the task has been extremely rewarding.\r\n\r\nThank you to everyone who made this project possible. In addition to making data collection easier, which has taken progress reporting from an average of 15 hours of work to only 8, it has allowed me to become more present in the moment. With an iPad, I no longer have to dedicate planning time to transcribing data onto my computer- I can take it in the moment, and be back with our students faster.\r\n\r\nOne unexpected perk is that I have been able to let my students read books on the iPad. For a few trusted students, time on the iPad reading books rented online from the library has been a source of joy in our classroom. Since our school does not have a library, this has allowed my students access to literacy in a way that many of their peers in wealthier communities have always had.","fullyFundedDate":1735657784327,"projectUrl":"project/streamlining-data-collection-for-student/8899132/","projectTitle":"Streamlining Data Collection for Students with Disabilities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wiseman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9236406_orig.jpg?crop=418,418,x0,y62&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693363363100","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9236406"},{"teacherId":9236406,"projectId":8869408,"letterContent":"When the materials arrived in our classroom on a rainy Thursday, the students screamed with joy. The supplies you've provided will have a direct and lasting impact on my students. With these tools, we'll be able to teach students how to keep out classroom space organized. These habits are vital in promoting responsibility, which is foundational for maintaining growth as teenagers.\r\n\r\nWe understand that responsibility and accountability play a significant role in shaping a student's future, and with your support, we're taking another step toward creating a healthier and more successful environment for these young learners.","fullyFundedDate":1729815575587,"projectUrl":"project/becoming-organized-english-language-lear/8830701/","projectTitle":"Becoming Organized English Language Learners!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Clarence","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9742884_orig.jpg?crop=1236,1236,x485,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756075914123","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9742884"},{"teacherId":9236406,"projectId":8831632,"letterContent":"The storage bins and pencil pouches have helped students to more easily organize their materials. These materials have quickly become a part of the students' daily routine. Students now have a place in the classroom to call their own, and to store their headphones, pencils, and expo markers.
