We are actually reading in our classroom now these wonderful books are helping us follow along. I'm so excited to pull back the curtain for you.\r\n\r\nWhen we settle in for reading time, the room is definitely filled with a new kind of energy. Thanks to you, my students now have their own copies of The Witches and The BFG to hold, and we've added some flexible seating options, so they can curl up in a comfy spot, spread out on the floor, or find a quiet nook. This combination of personal space and their very own book has completely transformed their focus and independence. The most magical change is seeing my students take true ownership. Because the books are right in their hands, they can easily trace the words with their fingers, which helps them read more smoothly. And when we read a part that makes us all laugh, like the Grand High Witch's reveal, I'll see them immediately flip back a few pages to reread it. \r\n\r\nYou have given them more than just stories. You've given them the joyful of reading experience that is building skills and memories to last a lifetime. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being a vital part of our classroom family.","fullyFundedDate":1758836208615,"projectUrl":"project/reading-along/9669371/","projectTitle":"Reading Along","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rosas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7345141_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1689027340855","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7345141"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_90741","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":482,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":87,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"20.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":74.9,"schoolId":90741,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about University Park Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"University Park Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/salinas-city-elementary-school-district/university-park-elementary-school/90741"}
