Your generous contributions have transformed our reading space into a warm, inviting nook where students can relax and immerse themselves in the joy of books. They are particularly fond of the cozy beanbag chairs and soft fluorescent light covers, and I appreciate the shelving, storage bins, and mood-enhancing items that have allowed me to organize our classroom library in a meaningful and engaging way.\r\n\r\nYour support has made an immediate and profound impact on our classroom atmosphere. The comfortable environment you helped create has fostered a sense of ownership and excitement around reading that is truly remarkable to witness. Although the phrase \"Never judge a book by its cover\" is often repeated, the reality is that students do judge books by their cover. The shelves and bins you provided allow me to organize and display books face-forward, enticing students to pick them up. Nearly every day, one of these books catches a student's eye. They'll say something like, \"Oh! This looks cool,\" and walk up to the library, fixated on a particular book. Before I know it, I've checked the book out to them, and they're on their way to a new adventure!\r\n\r\nBeyond creating a sense of excitement around literature, your generosity has shown my students that their education and personal growth are valued by a community that believes in them. Even former students and students who are not in my classes enjoy spending time in our reading space after school. In a Title 1 district where resources are often limited, your kindness has provided them with a sense of belonging and encouragement that is just as meaningful as the physical additions to our classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this vision a reality. Your contributions have not only enhanced our classroom, but they have also opened doors to a world of possibilities for these young readers. My students and I are deeply grateful for your kindness and support, and I look forward to sharing more stories of their reading journeys with you in the future.","fullyFundedDate":1729305877265,"projectUrl":"project/wheelers-ultimate-classroom-library-exp/8526328/","projectTitle":"Wheeler's Ultimate Classroom Library Experience!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Wheeler","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9612395_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723136048318","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/wheeler-english"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_15798","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1750,"numTeachers":114,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":20,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":74,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":63.2,"schoolId":15798,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about University High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"University High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/waco-independent-school-district/university-high-school/15798"}
