We've already begun using them during our hands-on learning centers, and they've inspired so much creativity and collaboration. One of our favorite projects so far has been our \"Community Helpers\" unit, where students rotate through different role-play stations. The vet playdough set has become the star of the classroom, the kids absolutely love it. They've been using the playdough tools to \"examine\" their animal models, make pretend bandages, and talk through what a veterinarian does. A few students have even said they want to become veterinarians someday because of this center, which has been such a joyful moment to witness!\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their faces lit up. There was so much excitement, curiosity, and chatter about what they could build, create, and explore. Many of them immediately jumped into imaginative play, and others asked thoughtful questions about how the tools are used in real-life jobs.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, the next step in our current project is to continue exploring different community helpers and connect their roles to real-world skills. The new resources will allow students to extend their learning through hands-on experiences, storytelling, and collaborative play. I'm so grateful to our donors for helping make these meaningful learning moments possible—their generosity has brought so much joy and inspiration into our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1758636430282,"projectUrl":"project/fidgets-for-friends/9668068/","projectTitle":"Fidgets for Friends","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Katie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9472237_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734237330259","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9472237"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_33869","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":99,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":45,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":69,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":95.8,"schoolId":33869,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Union Street Charter School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Union Street Charter School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/arcata-elementary-school-district/union-street-charter-school/33869"}
