With the items from this project, I have been able to implement hands on learning centers in both reading and math. My students are highly engaged and excited to participate in learning experiences using the light tables and translucent manipulatives. They can't wait to dig into learning at the sensory bin center where they develop this fine motor skills as they practice reading and mathematics, too.\t\r\n My students were so excited when I was able to unbox our project items with them! Their faces lit up as I told them that our friends, families, and even strangers that love to support students and learning, had gotten together to sponsor our class Donors Choose Project. They all wanted to say thank you to each and every person!\r\n The best thing about this project is that all materials are being used each and every day by my students. I am able to change the skills they practice and make them more challenging and complex as the year progresses. The activities stay the same. For example, students began sorting shapes on the light table earlier this year. Now they are able to compose new shapes on the light table with the same manipulatives and supplies. They are so excited to see what's next when they know the activities will include the light table and the sensory bin. And I could never have made this all happen without gracious donors like you!","fullyFundedDate":1730583844108,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-based-learning-center-supplies/8494694/","projectTitle":"Sensory Based Learning Center Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Posvar","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7292991_orig.jpg?crop=631,631,x336,y215&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724358024569","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7292991"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_12825","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":434,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":68,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":78,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":17,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"17.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":88.2,"schoolId":12825,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Union Hill School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Union Hill School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/alabama/morgan-county-school-district/union-hill-junior-high-school/12825"}
