The microscope slide set will be shared with Botany, Zoology and Anatomy and Physiology. Thanks to your support, we can explore with current up to date lab slides. Our lab material is outdated and losing its color and visibility. The new gloves purchased the years' worth of gloves to practice proper lab safety protocol and have gloves to do conduct more experiments that require personal protective equipment. Many of our students come from low-income households and helping us purchase pencils makes it easy to help them be prepared daily. Many former students stop by my classroom for pencils because they can't afford to purchase them or they lack transportation to buy school supplies.\r\n\tTwo weeks ago, my students conducted their first labs in the classroom and were able to use the donated gloves for their first lab of the school year, and in a few weeks, they will use the slide set to conduct their lab to become familiar with the microscope, then they will use it to a conduct microscope labs for mitosis unit. Most students who take my biology classes experience real lab practice, and they always enjoy the course and the experience of conducting scientific experiments. I am grateful for your giving heart, your donation is to students from my ama mater, and these children are from my community. They are my children, and now they are your children, as well. \r\n\r\nThank you (Ahe'hee!), \r\n\r\nMarietta Riggs-Yazzie\r\nScience Teacher\r\nTuba City High School","fullyFundedDate":1777552286397,"projectUrl":"project/microscope-lab/10205353/","projectTitle":"Microscope Lab","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Riggs-Yazzie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10482510"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_57710","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":617,"numTeachers":41,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":98,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":40.0,"schoolId":57710,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Tuba City High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Tuba City High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/tuba-city-unified-school-district-15/tuba-city-high-school/57710"}
