This project was to provide miniature figurines that students could use to use play to tell their story. They also use the people to talk about conflicts with siblings or classmates. Your support has had an immediate and meaningful impact on our classroom environment, and we are already seeing the difference it makes!\r\n\r\nThe small group materials have been a game-changer. Our students are now able to engage in more focused, hands-on learning experiences, which has really enhanced their understanding of the concepts we're exploring. The new resources have given them the tools they need to collaborate and dive deeper into their learning. They're more excited than ever to participate, and I've noticed their confidence grow with each session.\r\n\r\nThe new storage has also been a huge help in organizing our classroom. It has made it so much easier to keep materials accessible and tidy, which, in turn, helps keep our lessons running smoothly. The students now know exactly where to find what they need, and it's made the classroom feel more structured and welcoming.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your kindness and generosity. This project was a blast but also was a wonderful, challenging lesson for my students. I taught 5th grade the lesson over Dragon Eyes. This was one of our biggest projects of the school year! Each 5th grader created a unique Dragon Eye and used different mediums- markers, sharpies, oil pastels, colored pencils. Each student chose the medium that elevated their strengths on this project. I also administered an Artist's Statement assessment at the end of this project in which students had to write 3-5 meaningful sentences about their art. An Artist's Statement example:\r\nMy art expresses the feeling of sadness. I blended certain colors to look like real dragon scales. The purpose of my art was to create something sad and blue. I want people to notice the blending I did in my art.\r\n\r\nI used the artwork and artist' statements as Student Work Samples to share with other classes and to use as a tool to show growth in my students. This is my first year teaching music at the elementary level and I have been pleasantly surprised at how enthusiastic this 3rd grade class is about music. They love musicals, singing and dancing and above all they love to talk. The Nuvo+ recorder that you purchased for them has been such a fun learning experience for all of us. In the district I work the music department only buys recorders for 4th grade. I asked the 3rd graders at Truscott if they were interested and felt ready to start learning a wind instrument. They were soooooo excited and that excitement has not dissipated. Every week we work together as a class to learn a new song and then each student plays the song in front of the class to try for their \"belt\" (we use a teaching method entitled Recorder Karate, they earn beads for each song they pass off). Since the recorders are easier to play and make a better sound I have not noticed as much frustration as in the 4th grade class. Overall your donation has created a great first step in these young musicians lives.
