Last semester my students were tasked to plan, reflect and make a drawing of a dragon. It took us several weeks to plan and reflect to ensure we were ready to draw our dragons. Now this semester, experimenting with Model Magic will be huge for my students as we have only used colored pencils, paints and manipulated paper this year. I would love to see my students' drawings of dragons be recreated in a 3-dimensional form. I know it would mean a great deal to my students to have the ability to not only get their hands dirty molding clay but to actually make their dimensional dragons using clay! I will also ask the students to write an artist's statement about his or her dragon drawing.
