My students have already experienced the benefits of utilizing an updated skeleton in our classroom. The students were able to see how true ribs are different from false ribs and able to study the bones of the hands as our old skeleton did not have any hands. \r\n During our studies of the human body and how it moves it was great to see the ligaments on the skeleton to better understand how that looks under the muscles. Students were able to research muscles and then look at the insertion and origin guide that came with the skeleton to see where those groups attached to the skeleton. The new skeleton also shows how the nerves extend out of the spinal cord to travel to their destinations throughout the body which helps them to realize how extensive the entire nerve network is. \r\n Next year, the students will be able to start being able to see all the information that the human skeleton has to offer. They can begin studying the parts of the body that we had to glaze over this year because the old skeleton did not show all the pertinent information. Again, thank you so much for the generous donations that allowed the purchase of this amazing skeleton that will be a huge learning aide in this years, and future classes.","fullyFundedDate":1739562858138,"projectUrl":"project/truman-skeleton-project/9102525/","projectTitle":"Truman Skeleton Project","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Williams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9918251"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_75911","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":93,"numTeachers":8,"percentFrplEligible":61,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":90,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"11.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":87.5,"schoolId":75911,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Truman Junior Senior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Truman Junior Senior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/minnesota/truman-school-district-458/truman-junior-senior-high-school/75911"}
