The new supplies you helped provide—coffee, cups, lids, syrups, and other essentials—have allowed my special needs students to continue running our coffee business with excitement and pride. Each morning, my students take orders, prepare drinks, and deliver them to staff members throughout the building. They're using the new materials daily while practicing important life, communication, and job-readiness skills such as handling money, following multi-step directions, greeting customers, and working as a team.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new supplies, their faces lit up with pure excitement. They were eager to open each box and immediately began planning what new drinks they could make for our \"customers.\" It was such a joyful moment—they truly felt supported and valued, knowing that people outside of our classroom believe in them and their abilities.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to build on this momentum by introducing new menu items and expanding student roles within the business. We're also working on connecting their experiences to real-world job skills, such as customer service and cleanliness standards, to help prepare them for future employment opportunities after high school. Your kindness has made all of this possible, and we are so grateful for your continued belief in our students and their success.","fullyFundedDate":1746555313240,"projectUrl":"project/coffee-is-brewing-in-the-life-skills-cla/9134328/","projectTitle":"Coffee Is Brewing in the Life Skills Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Schlote","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp352750_orig.jpg?crop=576,576,x624,y384&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1555418855322","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/juliehagemeier"},{"teacherId":352750,"projectId":8057023,"letterContent":"We are deeply grateful for the generous grant support, which is enabling our life skills class to purchase essential supplies for learning the vocational skills of candle and soap making.
