Having the wireless keyboard has made learning much easier and accessible to all students. They are able to work on projects, edit and revise their ideas, and answer questions from their desks while projecting the information to our smart screen so that the entire class can see the results in \"live time\". This keeps them engaged in the lesson because they all want the chance to use it. \r\nWinter in South Florida is an excellent time to put our beautiful new clip boards to good use. Whenever there is an opportunity to work outside the students ask for that option. I am lucky enough to have a quiet greenspace right outside my classroom door to accommodate them and they love the chance to work in partners or in groups this way. Clipboards are a simple, low-tech collaboration tool that works wonders for getting students out of their seats and learning in a new way.\r\nThe snacks and treats are always appreciated. We have an AM and PM snack time to help fuel our long day of learning. Many students forget to bring something or are just hungry enough to want a little more. Being able to provide that for them is a blessing. It helps us all get through the day a little easier!","fullyFundedDate":1760902076265,"projectUrl":"project/tech-savvy-toucans/9810234/","projectTitle":"Tech Savvy Toucans","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Milian","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1499228_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1504066598157","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/kmilian"},{"teacherId":3276954,"projectId":8810680,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our \"Scholastic Magazine and Learning Fun!\" project. Because of you, my 4th-grade students have access to exciting, high-interest nonfiction texts that make reading both fun and meaningful. Each week, the Scholastic magazines deliver real-world topics that spark curiosity and give us the opportunity to dive into science, history, and current events—all while building key reading skills.\r\n\r\nThese texts help my students practice strategies like identifying main ideas and supporting details, analyzing text features (like captions, diagrams, and bolded vocabulary), and drawing inferences from what they read. We use the magazines during whole-group instruction, small groups, and even in centers. Reading in our classroom has become a shared adventure—my students now beg to keep their magazines so they can read them again at home!\r\n\r\nOne of my students, who previously struggled to stay focused during reading time, now looks forward to Scholastic days and excitedly shares facts from the articles with his classmates. Another student, a budding environmentalist, was thrilled to read about conservation efforts and even wrote her own persuasive letter to our principal about starting a recycling program.
