Since getting the equipment we have been able to time our students miles, keep track of points for games we play, relax and yoga, work as teams (using whiteboards), as well as using the rack to transport balls inside and outside! All the equipment we have received has helped benefit our students cardiovascular endurance and have allowed them to do a lot more team activities. \r\n\r\nNext year I am planning to use all the materials received to bring the classroom outside more. Since we have been given whiteboards, a basketball rack, and crates, transporting things outside will be much easier than has been in the past! It is nice to get their bodies moving, as well as them benefitting from being outdoors rather than inside all day. I hope to even do a day of yoga outside using our mats! These resources have already made a huge difference in both our classroom environment and our productions. One of the biggest impacts has been simply helping students feel more professional and prepared. Before receiving these materials, our makeup supplies were difficult to organize and many items were outdated or shared between large groups of students. Now, students can easily access the tools they need, keep materials clean and organized, and learn proper theatrical makeup techniques in a way that mirrors real theatre programs and industry practices.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments happened during preparations for our recent productions when students first saw the new materials organized and ready to use backstage. They were genuinely excited — not only because the supplies were new, but because they felt trusted and valued as artists. Several students immediately began helping organize stations and teaching younger performers how to properly use and care for the materials. It created a sense of pride and ownership in our theatre space that was really special to witness.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the year, these resources will support students in future productions, design projects, and hands-on technical theatre lessons. Students are currently learning about character design, stage makeup, and backstage organization while preparing for upcoming performances. Having professional-quality materials allows them to focus on creativity, collaboration, and storytelling rather than worrying about whether we have enough supplies to go around. Instead, that time was spent collaborating, problem-solving, and refining design choices.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new storage materials, their reaction was a mix of excitement and relief. Many commented on how \"professional\" the space felt and how much easier it was to move through the costume area with a clear system in place. For students serving on the costume and wardrobe crews, the organization helped them feel trusted and empowered to take ownership of the space. We first used the airbrush during our recent production of Alice vs. Wonderland, where students applied it to create smooth, stylized looks for fantasy characters—soft gradients for magical creatures, subtle aging effects, and bold storybook details that elevated the entire visual world of the show. One standout moment was watching a student designer carefully airbrush highlights and shadows on a performer's face and then step back, amazed at how instantly \"the character came alive.\"\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their reaction was pure excitement. For many of them, this was their first time handling industry-standard makeup equipment, and it immediately made the work feel more real and more meaningful. There was a lot of curiosity, a lot of careful experimentation, and a strong sense of pride as they realized they were being trusted with tools used by professionals.
