Students bonded with the baby birds, asked thoughtful questions, and developed a new appreciation for the wonder of nature. I had a hard time getting some of them to leave the tote with the babies. Many of them still talk about it today, and we are so excited to make this a tradition each spring. The new equipment allowed for all the students to have their own boards for our different class group activities. \r\n\r\nOur new novels were a great new addition to the book clubs. This additional seating area has made a huge improvement to my student's moral, their behavior, and their willingness to work as a team. At first, they were excited to sit on the fuzzy rug, but now they see it as a communal work zone where they can brain storm, work together, and when the time is right, to play games at. \r\n\r\nWhen I first came into my class room, there was the standard desks along with one round table. The students were always fidgeting and moving around, asking to sit elsewhere, and not focusing on their work very well. I asked the students how we could make the days easier and one student asked to sit on the floor as that is how they complete work at home. This was the starting conversation to our relationship. \r\n\r\nThanks to your generous donation, my class has a sense of ownership, having something they wanted to be a part of the classroom available, and a variety of places to sit so they can be fidgety, squirrely, or how ever they are feeling that day.
