These books have added an enormous amount of variety to our classroom library. \r\n Students are able to choose from genres that they enjoy reading. Many of my students like the I Survived series/I Escaped series. I have used these books as read aloud and we have been able to make connections to historical and present events.\r\n Independent reading is time for students to find enjoyment in their reading. They can read around the room, sit by a friend, or just enjoy their individual time. \r\n I always tell my students that the only way to get better at reading is to read. Reading is a skill that will go with them beyond their educational years. I know that the donations have impacted my classroom because students have asked to borrow books from the classroom library to take home and read. \r\n Thank you again for your wonderful gift.
