Their faces lit up as they immediately began exploring, creating games together, and using their imaginations in ways that were so heartwarming to watch. Many of our students do not have access to these kinds of play experiences outside of school, so this felt incredibly special to them.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the resources during outdoor learning rotations where students practice teamwork, communication, counting, problem-solving, and imaginative play. One of the sweetest moments was watching students encourage one another, take turns, and create their own pretend \"community\" outdoors using the materials together.\r\n\r\nThese resources have also helped support our current lessons on social emotional learning and cooperative play. Our next steps are continuing to build outdoor learning experiences that connect play with early literacy, math, and communication skills while helping students strengthen friendships and confidence.\r\n\r\nThank you again for helping create joyful learning experiences for our little learners.","fullyFundedDate":1778185100807,"projectUrl":"project/little-learners-big-outdoor-adventures/10196046/","projectTitle":"Little Learners, Big Outdoor Adventures","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Alonso","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9729544_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1778188221226","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9729544"},{"teacherId":9729544,"projectId":9428144,"letterContent":"We are using the new resources to create a welcoming, comfortable classroom environment where students feel safe to learn, talk, and take a moment to reset. One of my favorite moments was watching students walk in, sit down on the comfy seating, and immediately relax. It opened the door for more meaningful conversations, laughter, and connection, something that is just as important as academics.\r\nMy students were truly excited and grateful. Many of them already view my classroom as a safe space, and the new materials made it feel even more special. They kept saying how comfortable and peaceful it felt, and several shared that it made them want to stay and focus. Seeing their smiles and sense of belonging was incredibly rewarding.\r\nOur next steps are to continue building a space that supports both emotional well-being and learning. Many students come to my classroom when they need a break, someone to talk to, or even a snack if they're hungry. The next phase of our project is to add a small refrigerator and cleaning supplies so we can keep the space organized, stocked, and clean every day. This will help ensure that students always have a welcoming, supportive environment where they can feel cared for and ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1760639970818,"projectUrl":"project/brighter-minds-kinder-hearts-a-mental/9428144/","projectTitle":"Brighter Minds, Kinder Hearts: A Mental Health Hub for Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Alonso","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9729544_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1778188221226","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9729544"},{"teacherId":9729544,"projectId":8738635,"letterContent":"Thank you for funding our \"Attendance Incentives\" project, which focused on expanding ongoing rewards for all our students and celebrating their success. At Tom Bradley Global Awareness Magnet, we have struggled with chronic absenteeism for many years. This year, with the help of our attendance counselor, we have increased awareness of the importance of attendance and created a culture of attendance. With your donation, we were able to add incentives to our ongoing celebratory events that focused on attendance improvement. We also began creating monthly scavenger hunts and motivated the students to participate with the items you all donated. Students were eager to come to school, especially on the scavenger hunt days, and they were able to pick which snack or item they wanted. The activities we created added suspense and excitement with the students.\r\n\r\n Additionally, we celebrate every milestone day, focusing on improving tardiness in our school. We also do bi-weekly attendance improvement certificates, where we prepare a goodie bag along with a certificate filled with your donations. We noticed our students were more eager to come to school, and we noticed the drastic improvement. Every donation helps, and our students appreciate the donations.
