It has a couch and usually had 2 chairs. Unfortunately I had to get rid of a chair due to being used so much. My students often would say, \"Mrs. Sara we need another chair!\" Thanks to you we got the other chair. Now my student library has enough seating for the students to enjoy books!\r\n\r\nThis project also added some new release books to my classroom library. I introduce my students to several series of books and they just love them. So it is always a treat to get the new releases from these series. The students were excited when they arrived and eager to use them. My students utilize these headphones daily. \r\n\r\nWe have several supplemental academic computer programs that my students are required to do. The headphones that I provided prior were cheap and uncomfortable so it was extremely challenging to get them to use them. These new headphones are wonderful. They have a cushion on the ear pieces that make the headphone comfortable and allow them to focus on their learning. \r\n\r\nThe sound cancelling headphones have been great for my students who are bothered by the background noises in the classroom. We received 4 different colors (blue, green, and purple). The students were so eager to claim a cushion as their own.\r\n\r\nWe use these cushions all the time in first grade. In first grade we are not always working at our desks. The students are often sitting on the reading carpet listening to stories, they are playing math games with partners around the classroom, and they are having independent reading time. In all these situations the students are now doing these activities with their seat cushions in comfort. \r\n\r\nStudents are more willing to participate when they are comfortable. My students are very thankful for the cushions. We drew what we saw and then returned to our classroom where we looked up the drawings on Google to identify what we drew. The ability to have hands on learning is priceless! Not only did their observation skills and sense of wonder increase, but their artistic ability improved by leaps and bounds. Most students claim this was their favorite activity of the school year.\r\nMy goal was to get students engaged in learning science and awaken their curiosity. I taught the Scientific Method which includes observation and asking questions. The students were excited to return to the classroom and see if they could find their discovery on Google and read more about their subject. The students will be easy to keep up with on forest ecology hikes and tide-pooling adventures because they will be wearing daypacks with their names.
