These materials are essential for students to learn how to grow and prepare their own fruits and vegetables. Students were responsible for all aspects of the project to improve their planning, time management, and gardening knowledge. \r\n\r\nStudents were ecstatic to walk into our garden room to see a stack of soil and a plethora of new seeds to choose from. They quickly began scanning the seed packs to determine what should be planted first. Students quickly went to work reading the labels and planning what and how we should plant the new seeds. Students worked in groups to label growing trays and prepare seedling pots. They created and followed a watering schedule that was coordinated between multiple classes. The plants are currently thriving and we are eagerly awaiting ripe fruits and vegetables. Student groups in culinary will choose and prepare recipes using our produce when it is ready and we are all eagerly anticipating that day.","fullyFundedDate":1757188316597,"projectUrl":"project/edible-education-growing-ingredients-g/9581035/","projectTitle":"Edible Education: Growing Ingredients, Growing Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. C.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp434052_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1524258389018","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/s-compton"},{"teacherId":7895510,"projectId":9454041,"letterContent":"The books and supplemental materials have made a powerful difference in my classroom. As a new ESL teacher, I work with incredible students who are learning English as a second language while also mastering rigorous academic content. Many of my students are newcomers to the country with little or no prior English exposure, so these materials have been essential in giving them the tools and confidence to participate fully in class.\r\nIn our classroom, reading is both a language journey and a celebration of progress. \r\n\r\nA few of my students, who were once hesitant to read or speak in class, now eagerly volunteer to read aloud or share what they learned.
