My students are low income high school students in one of the largest school districts in the United States. Most of my students receive specialized services, and many have goals of going to university, but will be at an extreme disadvantage if they are not exposed to current technology. It is a struggle to get assignments completed because we have few computers available for student use. My students don't have the luxury, many take for granted, of a computer and Internet in their home. They have adult problems, such as children of their own and struggling to keep a roof over their heads. My students deserve to have exposure to the same technology as their counterparts in the suburbs of Chicago.
