The arrival of our new cushions, lap desks, library lounge chairs, and more has completely transformed the energy in our classroom. The students were beyond excited when they first saw the new materials. There were literal cheers, and I heard one student say, \"This is the best day ever!\"\r\n\r\nSince then, flexible seating has become a daily highlight. Each morning, students eagerly pick their seats for the day; whether it's a cozy cushion for independent reading, a lap desk for focused writing, or a lounge chair for small group work. The room now feels more like a space designed with them in mind, and it's amazing to see how that change has impacted their engagement and focus.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments so far was during an ELA assessment. Students spread out across the room, settled into their chosen seats, and worked so intently. Some told me afterward that being able to choose where and how they worked helped them concentrate better and stay calm. For kids who sometimes struggle with focus or sitting still, this flexibility has been a game-changer.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, we're building a classroom environment that supports independence, comfort, and focus. Up next, students will be working on personal narrative and informational writing. I know these new seating options will continue to support their learning in powerful ways.\r\n\r\nThank you for being part of our classroom community and helping make our learning space one that students feel excited to walk into each day!","fullyFundedDate":1757773912011,"projectUrl":"project/wiggles-welcome-flexible-seating-for-fo/9418339/","projectTitle":"Wiggles Welcome: Flexible Seating for Focused Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Klein","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9845793_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750127038591","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9845793"},{"teacherId":9845793,"projectId":9418447,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of my DonorsChoose project! Because of you, my students now have an engaging and flexible new learning tool in our classroom.\r\nRight now, we're using our new table during small group math stations. My students have been drawing pictures directly on the table as a strategy to solve addition and subtraction problems. It's been such a motivating way for them to show their thinking! Once literacy assessments are complete, we'll also use the table during small group reading and writing. Students will write dictated sentences, practice mapping out sounds with Elkonin boxes, and build even stronger literacy skills.\r\nWhen my students first saw the table, they could hardly believe it. They were thrilled to discover they could draw right on the surface, and each child got a turn to doodle before we began using it for lessons. Their excitement made it clear that this resource will be a classroom favorite for years to come.\r\nYour generosity has not only provided a fun and engaging tool, but it has also created new opportunities for learning across subjects. My students and I are truly grateful for your support; you've made our classroom a more joyful place to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1755689167758,"projectUrl":"project/write-on-the-table-yes-please/9418447/","projectTitle":"Write On the Table?
