Many of my students have autism and thrive when they are given meaningful opportunities to regulate their emotions, manage sensory input, and practice coping strategies. The school day can be busy, loud, and sometimes overwhelming. For students with sensory sensitivities, this can make it difficult to remain calm, focused, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, we are creating a safe and welcoming sensory room designed specifically to meet these needs. The balance beam and spinning chair you helped provide will support the development of coordination, balance, and muscle control. More importantly, these tools will help students manage anxiety or overstimulation, while also offering the movement input they may need to increase focus and energy.\r\nWith access to sensory breaks, students can practice self-control and return to class ready to engage in learning and social interactions.\r\n\r\nYour support is helped us build a nurturing environment where students feel safe, respected, and empowered to succeed.
