They immediately started exploring the book series and poetry collections, excitedly pointing out titles and authors they recognized. It was such a joy to watch students at all reading levels—from those practicing phonemic awareness to those diving into advanced chapter books—find something just right for them.\r\n\r\nWe've already started using the materials during our small-group reading time and literacy centers. The phonics resources have been a game changer for students who needed extra decoding practice, while the book series have encouraged more independent reading and thoughtful discussions. The poetry books have inspired creative writing and classroom performances that celebrate language and expression in both English and Spanish.\r\n\r\nThese resources have helped my students see themselves as capable readers and writers who can make a difference in their community—just like the title of our project says, \"We Can Make This World a Better Place!\" Thank you for helping us build confidence, curiosity, and compassion through reading.","fullyFundedDate":1259716461412,"projectUrl":"project/we-can-make-this-world-a-better-place/341122/","projectTitle":"We Can Make This World a Better Place!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kolasinski","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp363281_orig.jpg?crop=1721,1721,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1580322777652","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/363281"},{"teacherId":10021816,"projectId":9327733,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students and I have been using the new resources to stay motivated and focused during our ELA and Study Skills lessons. The pop-its and treats have been wonderful incentives, they've helped encourage positive behavior, on-task focus, and completion of assignments.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were so excited. Their faces lit up at the sight of the pop-its, and many of them immediately asked how they could earn one. The treats quickly became a favorite reward, and they've turned our classroom into a more positive and encouraging space.\r\n\r\nRight now, I'm using these incentives to help students push through challenging reading and writing assignments, as well as to keep them engaged in study skills practice. Each incentive gives them something tangible to work toward, and it has made a big difference in their effort and confidence.\r\n\r\nThe next step for us is to continue building consistency and stamina in reading, writing, and organization, with these resources helping to keep students motivated along the way. Your support didn't just provide fun rewards, it gave my students a reason to stay engaged and proud of their hard work.\r\n\r\nFrom my students and me, thank you for believing in them and helping make learning feel both fun and rewarding!","fullyFundedDate":1749587500763,"projectUrl":"project/learn-thrive/9327733/","projectTitle":"Learn & Thrive","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Haughton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10021816"},{"teacherId":5902906,"projectId":9003092,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donation! These hats, gloves, and scarves kept our students warm the entire time they were snow tubing. It was only 36 degrees outside and my students would not have enjoyed themselves if they were cold. The students had a great time tubing as well. They said it was the best field trip they had been on. I was so glad they were able to experience the thrill and excitement of snow tubing. When it snows, many are stuck inside their homes because their neighborhoods are unsafe. There is a lot of gang violence, murders, people selling drugs, and other issues that prevent them from having fun on a snow day. Many of my students do not live close to sledding areas or cannot afford tubes or sleds. Your donation helped them experience an activity that will live forever in their memories.
