My students were very excited about seeing the tube ocean water light and using the cushion seat. The light is very relaxing and my students absolutely love alternate seating. We often have the lights either halfway or all the way turned off and the tube/ocean light is the only light in the room! We all love watching the fish move up and down and the bubbles floating while the colors change. My students' favorite time of day is when they are able to use the alternate seating during carpet time and chill time every day. Being able to have a calm space if vital to their learning and you had a hand in this process. The wheelchair has provided a quick and secure way to assist students who have been injured or are too tired or unwell to walk from the playground, cafeteria, or other areas of the school. Having this resource on hand means we can respond promptly to their needs without causing unnecessary stress or discomfort.\r\n\r\nWhen our students first saw the new wheelchair, they were curious and excited to know how it would help. We explained that it was a special tool to make sure everyone can get where they need to go, even if they're hurt or not feeling their best. This sparked some thoughtful conversations about empathy and helping others, which fits perfectly with our school's values.
