When I first realized all of the people that had graciously donated to our project (computer headphones and classroom snacks), I was amazed and surprised! I have taught for over 25 years and never solicited donations from anyone other than my parents. This was my first time asking for help from an organization like Donors Choose.\r\nTo know people in the community and across the country wanted to help and were just waiting to make a difference is humbling. You saw our need and the importance of the request, and really stepped up. What a difference you have made to a group of deserving young scholars! My kids are so deserving and extremely grateful. \r\nWhen they saw the headphones they were, dare I say, giddy! Immediately, they could tell they were not the cheap flimsy kind. They couldn't wait to try them out. They were so thankful to the donors. I have seen the increase in production and focus on the part of the students when they are on the computers now. They are not fussing with flimsy headphones, or coming up complaining that they can't hear or something broke off. They now grab their computers and get to work!\r\nThen! The snacks! I usually buy dry cereal to hand out to kids that did not bring a snack from home. They were so excited to have the various snacks that were sent. They even got choices! What a difference in their performance and attitudes when their little tummies aren't hungry!\r\nI can not express or emphasize how much of a difference your kindness and generosity means to my students and myself.
