I had the books from this DC project prepared and displayed around the library and the students could barely wait to check them out! The books in this wish list were a wonderful sampling of in-demand fiction and nonfiction books. We had to put a few books on reserve for a research project that the eighth grade starts the year with; some students had to put their excitement on hold for a couple of weeks. But they were easily intrigued by other great new titles.\r\n\r\nThis particular group of books hit several topics that are covered in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade research projects. Our hope is that these titles don't just help students research, but that they also inspire them to keep their inquiries going and spark new curiosities. Five of our eighth grade students came back to the library after their research papers were completed to check out the books they had discovered so they could keep reading about the topic. I think that is proof of the power your generosity and donations have had on our readers here.\r\n\r\nThank you for your unwavering support in getting our library back up to date and stocked with books that keep our kids wanting to read more! My throat has been less irritated this year, and I have to think it is because I am breathing cleaner air all day. The kids are also very appreciative of people wanting to make our space cleaner. They are always in awe that \"random\" people give me money to make their educational experience better.
