We have already had several indoor recess days due to weather. One of the most popular items has been the step-by-step drawing books. The books give the kids a great starting point to create illustrations. They have loved adding background and details, and several have independently started writing stories to go along with the art. \r\n The building blocks are also a hit! Working wheels, catapult actions, and swinging hinge points have really sparked creativity with my students. This morning, they were building push cars to see whose car could go the farthest. They delved into a conversation about the weight of the cars, or if some rolled farther because it was taller. So cute!\r\n Thank you for being willing to fund creative learning materials.","fullyFundedDate":1746814499868,"projectUrl":"project/stem-and-art-what-a-way-to-learn/9258485/","projectTitle":"STEM and art---what a way to learn!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bybee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8301354"},{"teacherId":3160382,"projectId":8867200,"letterContent":"My class was so excited to get the 3-D printers your donations helped with. Technology plays a vital role in education today and I like to use it to engage my students. As you know, technology plays a big part in our everyday lives so the more my students are exposed to a variety of technology tools the more comfortable they are to try something new. We figured out how to use the printers together and when a print didn't turn out, I let them help me problem solve. My 3rd graders are brilliant! When projects like these are supported by wonderful people like you, my students win!\r\n\r\nWe learned how 3-D printers are used in the real world and how creativity plays a big part. If you think it, you can create it. Then we brainstormed different ways we could use it in our classroom. They wrote personal narratives, learned about stop motion, and designed some amazing backgrounds. Honestly, they spent more time focusing on the details so they could 3-D print objects for their stop motion movies. \r\n\r\nAt the end of the year I like to keep my students motivated by having them earn desk pets. These are little 3d printed animals. They can earn dojo dollars for making good choices for the remainder of the year. Once they earn their desk pet, they can visit the desk pet store to buy supplies for their pet. I was able to print little animals, robots, aliens and accessories. One of the favorite accessories was a turtle sandbox with a lid. \r\n\r\nI can't wait to see what next years group of students come up with. Thank you again for your wonderful contribution to our class.","fullyFundedDate":1731529894447,"projectUrl":"project/knowledge-through-textiles/8867200/","projectTitle":"Knowledge Through Textiles","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Heninger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3160382_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1518216048838","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3160382"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_109313","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":730,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":14,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":80,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":87.5,"schoolId":109313,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Syracuse Arts Academy North on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Syracuse Arts Academy North","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/utah/utah-department-of-education/syracuse-arts-academy-north-campus/109313"}
