We have already had several indoor recess days due to weather. One of the most popular items has been the step-by-step drawing books. The books give the kids a great starting point to create illustrations. They have loved adding background and details, and several have independently started writing stories to go along with the art. \r\n The building blocks are also a hit! Working wheels, catapult actions, and swinging hinge points have really sparked creativity with my students. This morning, they were building push cars to see whose car could go the farthest. They delved into a conversation about the weight of the cars, or if some rolled farther because it was taller.
