Your contributions made it possible for our students to experience a meaningful cultural and artistic journey that they will remember for years to come.\r\n\r\nThrough this project, students explored the rich Mexican tradition surrounding the creation of Alebrijes and learned about the positive financial impact that Alebrijes sales have had on small villages and artisan communities in Mexico. This experience helped students gain a deeper appreciation for cultural art forms and the importance of preserving artistic traditions.\r\n\r\nStudents also had the opportunity to participate in hands-on learning by designing and creating their own Alebrijes. They learned the creative process step-by-step, from planning their creatures to embellishing them with colorful patterns, intricate designs, and unique details. The excitement, creativity, and pride they demonstrated throughout the project were truly inspiring.\r\n\r\nYour generosity provided our students with an unforgettable opportunity to learn through art, culture, and creativity. One of my favorite classroom moments happened when students worked together to sort objects into the correct sound categories and then challenged each other to find more words in the classroom that began with the same sounds. It turned into an engaging conversation filled with excitement, teamwork, and confidence-building as students practiced their phonics skills.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials were first introduced, the students were thrilled. Students eagerly gathered around the boxes, pulling out objects and proudly naming and sorting the beginning sounds they heard. \r\n\r\nYour support has also helped create a more engaging and interactive classroom environment. These things were used so much last year, I had to get more for this school year. So far, we've played a school-wide family event where each teacher hosted an activity based on a book and theme. I taught them Octo-Tag! The older students love to use them to lengthen their reach for Music Tag! And the 2nd & 3rd graders cannot wait to use them for Light Saber Rhythms in a future lesson. \r\nThank you for allowing me to purchase enough for 2 per every child in my class for future lessons. Thank you so much for the opportunity to use these pop-up tents! We used them back in May 2 times, but I was out for one event and the other I completely forgot! HOWEVER...I KNEW we'd be using them within the 1st 9-weeks when school opened back up and I WAS RIGHT! We used the for out annual Boosterthon for shade over our water stations. Parents and students utilized them a lot this year, since the last 2 years they were not needed...it was extra sunny and hot here in FL before noon on Sept 17th! \r\nWe also had them ready to go for 1st weekly Run/Walk day, 2 days after the boosterthon. Run/Walk is a school-wide, every class period participation on Fridays. This is to get the kiddos moving and earning mileage points and prizes yearly! Our teachers, assistants, and volunteers were so grateful to have these tents out since the sun was intense and it was a humid 96 degrees out. YIKES - these pop-up tents are a huge commodity at our school and my admin and fellow faculty appreciate the fact they were funded through community members and un-known donors who just care about our school, students, and the environment we teach them in!
