The children were immediately excited to explore the new resources. They have especially enjoyed creating designs with the magnetic building cubes and Pixel Art Challenge, experimenting with patterns, and proudly showing one another what they built. The magnetic letters have also become a fun part of our literacy learning as students search for letters in their names, match letters, and practice recognizing lowercase letters.\r\n\r\nThe fine motor and movement materials have quickly become classroom favorites as well. Students use the geoboards and spiral art activities to strengthen the small muscles in their hands while creating their own designs. The obstacle rings and Create-A-Path materials encourage them to move, plan, cooperate, and solve problems together. I have loved watching students give one another ideas, take turns, and keep trying when something does not work the first time. The marble maze sensory mats have also provided a quiet, calming option for children who need a little extra help regulating their bodies and getting ready to learn.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, these materials will be incorporated into our literacy, math, STEM, fine motor, movement, and independent learning centers. Your generosity has helped create a classroom where children can learn through building, creating, moving, and exploring.
