This printer has become an essential tool in our classroom—not just for producing materials, but for empowering student creativity and bringing their work to life.\r\n\r\nHow is the technology helping our students learn?\r\nThe printer has made a dramatic difference in how students approach their projects. Now, they can see their digital work in a tangible format—whether it's a yearbook proof, a literary magazine layout, or a new play script. This immediate feedback helps them catch design or editing errors, think critically about layout and visual appeal, and take pride in a polished final product. It also introduces them to real-world publishing workflows, giving them hands-on experience with industry-relevant tools.\r\n\r\nWhat excites our students most?\r\nStudents are thrilled by the professional quality of the printed pieces. Many of them have never seen their work presented so clearly and beautifully before. The excitement when they hold a printed magazine or a finalized yearbook page is infectious. They're more motivated to revise and refine their work because they know it will be seen and shared in a way that looks impressive and professional.\r\n\r\nHave particular students connected with the new technology?\r\nYes—several students have especially embraced it. One student, who dreams of becoming a graphic designer, has taken the lead in print formatting and layout, learning how to manage print settings and troubleshoot issues. Another, a shy writer, found confidence seeing her poetry published in a class magazine with striking visual design. For both, and many others, the printer has given their talents a stage and boosted their confidence.\r\n\r\nThis gift wasn't just about adding a piece of technology—it gave our students new ways to express themselves, build practical skills, and see their work taken seriously. Thank you for making that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1715140603431,"projectUrl":"project/color-makes-the-world-bright/8319665/","projectTitle":"Color Makes the World Bright","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jenn","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7716076_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x309,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1611975430660","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7716076"},{"teacherId":7716076,"projectId":7272009,"letterContent":"Thanks to your incredible generosity, our classroom is now equipped with professional-grade Yeti microphones, launching us into the exciting world of broadcast journalism. While many people use technology like this at home for podcasts or video calls, in our classroom, these microphones have opened a whole new realm of creative and educational possibilities.\r\n\r\nWith the Yeti mics, students are learning how to research, script, and produce their own news segments, interviews, and podcasts. They're not just practicing speaking and writing—they're developing real-world communication skills, media literacy, and teamwork. This project has made our lessons more dynamic and relevant, and it's giving students a platform to express their thoughts on issues that matter to them.\r\n\r\nWhat excites our students most is the chance to sound like \"real\" broadcasters. The moment they heard their voices come through the microphone with studio-quality clarity, their faces lit up. It gave them a boost of confidence and made the experience feel professional and important.","fullyFundedDate":1683949317659,"projectUrl":"project/reporting-live/7272009/","projectTitle":"Reporting Live","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jenn","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7716076_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x309,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1611975430660","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7716076"},{"teacherId":7716076,"projectId":9099033,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous donation, our students have been able to bring their creativity to life in ways that truly matter. The ink you helped us purchase allowed students to see their hard work proudly displayed throughout our school hallways. This visibility not only boosted their confidence but also created a sense of pride and accomplishment. Our journalism class used the ink to design and print vibrant posters celebrating our 8th graders before their transition to high school, making their final days in middle school extra special and memorable.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting outcomes of this project was the recognition two of our student photographers received in a national photography contest. Having the ability to print high-quality images allowed them to showcase their talent in a professional format, which clearly made an impression. Several students who were initially shy or unsure of their artistic abilities have grown more engaged and enthusiastic, now that they can see the tangible results of their work. This project has shown them that their voices and visions matter — and that with the right tools, they can share them with the world.","fullyFundedDate":1739376112876,"projectUrl":"project/the-joy-of-ink/9099033/","projectTitle":"The Joy of Ink","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jenn","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7716076_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x309,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1611975430660","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7716076"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_42257","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":316,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":56,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":43,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":50,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"9.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":72.7,"schoolId":42257,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sunset Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sunset Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/st-vrain-valley-school-district-re-1j/sunset-middle-school/42257"}
