From the organization and headphones, to the additional decor they expressed curiosity for their new room. They immediately noticed how the space felt calm and inviting, and many of them began asking questions about how their classroom functions. The first week one student proudly showed others how to take care of their headphones, a small moment that showed how these tools are already helping build independence and responsibility.\r\n\r\nWe're now using the materials daily to reinforce our classroom routines. The new fan has been a quiet but important tool, especially during warm afternoons when students struggle with focus. Our updated classroom library, complete with the full book series and a plush reading buddy, has become a favorite area. It's clear that having access to an entire series has deepened their engagement and enthusiasm for reading.\r\n\r\nWe were able to begin using the STEM trays for a messy science lesson and Legos are planned for an upcoming lesson. These hands-on materials will help students collaborate and explore creative solutions in a fun, low-pressure way. Thanks to your generosity, we've not only refreshed the space, we've built a strong foundation for learning routines, curiosity, and growth. I'm so grateful for your support in helping our first graders start the year feeling confident, focused, and excited to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1746639310183,"projectUrl":"project/refresh-in-first/9272820/","projectTitle":"Refresh in First!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Dana Taylor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4490391_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722002103648","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/firstinfirst"},{"teacherId":9402376,"projectId":8910216,"letterContent":"The students were so pleased with all the parts they created for their dog. The beaded necklaces had a few disappointments but we all accomplished them. Students realized that being careful with only one knotted end can cause do overs. We supported them and encouraged them until all smiles lit up the classroom. It was a life skilled learned to remember. Deciding colors for their dog bed and blankets were difficult. There we many beautiful colors. The safety needles in plastic were not able to pierce the material so we cut small slits for the sewing learning to be experienced. They picked their thread colors and did great. The blankets were painted on both sides with stencils and free ideas to be reversible. Their houses were tents made from card stock.
