From the organization and headphones, to the additional decor they expressed curiosity for their new room. They immediately noticed how the space felt calm and inviting, and many of them began asking questions about how their classroom functions. The first week one student proudly showed others how to take care of their headphones, a small moment that showed how these tools are already helping build independence and responsibility.\r\n\r\nWe're now using the materials daily to reinforce our classroom routines. The new fan has been a quiet but important tool, especially during warm afternoons when students struggle with focus. Our updated classroom library, complete with the full book series and a plush reading buddy, has become a favorite area. It's clear that having access to an entire series has deepened their engagement and enthusiasm for reading.\r\n\r\nWe were able to begin using the STEM trays for a messy science lesson and Legos are planned for an upcoming lesson. These hands-on materials will help students collaborate and explore creative solutions in a fun, low-pressure way. Thanks to your generosity, we've not only refreshed the space, we've built a strong foundation for learning routines, curiosity, and growth. I'm so grateful for your support in helping our first graders start the year feeling confident, focused, and excited to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1746639310183,"projectUrl":"project/refresh-in-first/9272820/","projectTitle":"Refresh in First!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Dana Taylor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4490391_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722002103648","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/firstinfirst"},{"teacherId":9402376,"projectId":8910216,"letterContent":"The students were so pleased with all the parts they created for their dog. The beaded necklaces had a few disappointments but we all accomplished them. Students realized that being careful with only one knotted end can cause do overs. We supported them and encouraged them until all smiles lit up the classroom. It was a life skilled learned to remember. Deciding colors for their dog bed and blankets were difficult. There we many beautiful colors. The safety needles in plastic were not able to pierce the material so we cut small slits for the sewing learning to be experienced. They picked their thread colors and did great. The blankets were painted on both sides with stencils and free ideas to be reversible. Their houses were tents made from card stock. Thanks to your support, our students were able to experience math in ways that were both educational and engaging, and I want to share just how impactful your contribution has been.\r\n\r\nThe materials you helped provide, played a key role in allowing students to make real-world connections and strengthen their foundational math skills. As I have transitioned into providing small group interventions, these resources allowed me to create personalized, motivating lessons for students in both math and reading.\r\n\r\nOne of the highlights was the way students eagerly embraced new opportunities to utilize learning materials when they finished lessons. They took full advantage of the opportunity to plan, measure, and explore the math concepts embedded in the process. Whether it was calculating measurements or experimenting with ratios, students found joy in connecting their learning to real-life activities. Similarly, the magnetic building tools and building plates were a huge motivator and used to develop spatial reasoning and measurement skills. Groups of students worked collaboratively to build structures, reinforcing important math concepts while having fun.\r\n\r\nThese materials were utilized across multiple grade levels, from PreK to 4th grade, providing a wide range of students with the chance to explore math in new and exciting ways. The books, laminating sheets, and cleaning supplies were also put to great use, helping to support students' projects and ensure that their work was completed and preserved. The laminating sheets allowed students to turn their creations into lasting pieces of learning and rescues, while the cleaning supplies ensured the math lab remained organized and ready for the next set of explorations.\r\n\r\nOnce again, I cannot thank you enough for your generosity. Your donation has had a profound impact on our students, providing them with the resources they needed to explore, create, and grow. It is because of your support that we were able to make math come alive in such meaningful ways, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to enrich their learning experiences.","fullyFundedDate":1738171233077,"projectUrl":"project/meaningful-math/8938217/","projectTitle":"Meaningful Math","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Dana Taylor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4490391_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722002103648","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/firstinfirst"},{"teacherId":9890035,"projectId":9042252,"letterContent":"I would like to thank you for supporting my project. Because of your generosity I was able to continue in bringing comfort and care into the classroom. The sensory-friendly snacks really help me to continue the bond and even regulate emotions and creating a comfort corner where students can have it every time they are not feeling better. The students reacted amazingly with looking all the treats and the materials for my show me board activity. The reactions were mixed but generally positive! The surprise of seeing something sweet and comforting spark excitement. Some of the students feel instantly relax just by the sight of a familiar and comforting treat like the cookies and chips and the writing materials as well as the comforting tools for those kids who gets easily annoyed were very helpful.
