We are enjoying the new erasable pens for my students who are working on writing and oral language combined. The erasable pens are more fun to use, and the students enjoy using them over pencils. We are color coordinated regular past tense verbs, and irregular past tense verbs. \r\n\r\nThe students are also enjoying the snacks. Some I use as back up for when the students are just needing a little pick me up, but I also put some in my \"treasure chest\" for students to choose as a prize after they receive 10 stars on their behavior chart. The students and I have been having fun opening the boxes as they come in and beginning to put together some of the sensory boxes to help us achieve our goals during speech therapy sessions. \r\nThe students were so excited to see all the different parts of the sensory boxes and feeling them as we put them in the boxes (e.g. pom pom balls and Easter grass). We had fun using adjectives to describe what was in the boxes (e.g. the pom poms are fuzzy and soft, the grass is pokey and smooth). \r\nThe students are also enjoying the snacks that were provided. The students are really enjoying the snack options that are provided to them. Some of the snacks I offer to the students when they are hungry. The rest of the snacks are going to go in my \"treasure chest\" which is where the students can find a prize when they are working hard, or complete homework. \r\n\r\nThe students are also having fun producing their flash cards for speech practice and laminating and cutting them out before they time them home. They really love the process of making them themselves and then practicing them at home. I just wanted to take a few moments to let you know how we are using the new resources in my speech/language classroom. \r\nThe students were so excited to see my new mouth model. They really like how the mouth can open and close as well as the flexibility of the tongue. It is very lifelike and it helps them greatly when we are learning what parts of the mouth are used for producing speech sounds that we are working on in our sessions. \r\nThe students also enjoy having more rewards in the prize box. They really like the snacks! There are some of their favorites such as mini-Oreos and fruit snacks. \r\nThanks again for supporting teachers and students!
