Your gift brought more than just supplies—it brought joy, wonder, and lasting memories to our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe morning the students walked into the classroom and saw the summer buckets waiting for them on their desks was absolutely magical. Their faces lit up with the kind of excitement that every teacher hopes to see. Eyes widened, mouths dropped open, and a few students even gasped out loud in disbelief. Some asked, \"Is this really for me?\" while others immediately hugged the bucket as if it were a treasure chest. Many students have found joy reading the books you donated. I run the Sunshine State Book Club at my school and in Florida we have a list of 15 titles chosen each year for this special list. Our county has a big competition as to which school knows the minor details best, but I wanted to run a club to encourage students to connect and love literacy. These specific books that were donated also come with fun \"brag tags\" when the kids complete the comprehension quiz online from our school librarian. \r\nI have had a blast making fun crafts to celebrate each title with the kids in my club. We meet twice a month and discuss one of the books. The kids have the coolest thoughts and connections to share. I am blown away each time we meet by their depth of knowledge and interesting perspectives on the stories. Last meeting we created magical crystal key chains out of fun shaped beads to match The Shelterlings book. One of the themes of this title is magical animals who have missions to help their assigned humans, or 'familiars'. \r\nOne of my favorite parts of your amazingly generous donation is how many children in my regular class, outside of my reading club, have been inspired to borrow and read these books. I teach third grade, and this list is leveled for third through fifth graders. My students have had opportunities they wouldn't have normally by me showcasing all the books along my windowsill and engaging in meaningful conversations to encourage them to read the books. Many of my struggling readers have chosen to take on harder reading because the books are there for them, and their classmates read the same title along with them.\r\nI will forever be grateful and touched by your thoughtfulness to me and my stellar readers both in my club and in my third grade classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1730733543274,"projectUrl":"project/sunny-readers-shining-bright/8839971/","projectTitle":"Sunny Readers Shining Bright!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ramos","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7883582_orig.jpg?crop=1170,1170,x0,y3&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727810870091","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7883582"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_105218","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1150,"numTeachers":74,"percentFrplEligible":22,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":24,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":53,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":67.3,"schoolId":105218,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sun Blaze Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sun Blaze Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/orange-county-public-schools/sun-blaze-elementary-school/105218"}
