Everything covered in this project helps to ignite curiousity, wonder, problem solving, open-ended thinking, and more! Just this week, a small group of students were using the branch blocks to test their engineering skills, practice taking turns, and wonder if it was possible to reconstruct some real examples of structures they had seen in the real world with the collectin of new blocks they had to use. At the same time, two students were using their \"re-read power\" to re-read the book, \"The Curious Why\" to ask and answer questions and feel the power of wonder and curiousity through the perspective of the main character in the book. I have loved watching the excitement and curiousity all of the materials from this project have helped to spark with some of our earliest learners. The impact of this project is limitless and I am both excited and eager to see how the materials continue to be used over the coming months and years. Because of your generosity, students have been able to have wobbly stools to increase their movement. This has allowed students K-2 to improve their focus and access to instruction. They can stay engaged while still managing their physical gross motor needs. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, the fidget tools have helped students stay engaged too! They have been able to use playdoh and the tools as both academic and social/emotional resources. Students have been able to use playdoh to build their fine motor skills, which will aid in writing instruction throughout their years at school. They have used playdoh academically by building letters and numbers as well as words. They have been able to make connections to reading by building the setting of a story, which is not only great for their fine motor development but also fun! Students have used the playdoh also as a tool to regulate their emotions and relieve stress. \r\nLastly, the books have been great for students to connect with characters who look like them. They love to see themselves represented in literature.","fullyFundedDate":1727462628352,"projectUrl":"project/honoring-our-community/8573231/","projectTitle":"Honoring Our Community","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Reed","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9632067"},{"teacherId":9630835,"projectId":8568667,"letterContent":"Thank you very much for funding my Donors Choose Project to help diversify my third grade classroom.
