My Pre-K students were so excited when they saw all of the new summer fun materials arrive in our classroom. Their faces lit up with joy as they explored the bubbles, chalk, ropes, and buckets together. These simple activities quickly turned into opportunities for teamwork, creativity, laughter, and learning.\r\n\r\nI absolutely love how joyful, kind, and curious my students are. They have worked so hard this year learning letters, numbers, social skills, and how to be good friends. Many of my students come from families with limited resources, so having these special activities gives them opportunities to continue learning through play and exploration. Watching them practice sharing, problem-solving, and fine motor skills while simply having fun has been so rewarding.\r\n\r\nThese resources are helping create meaningful memories as we finish our school year and prepare for summer. They have brought so much excitement to our reading time and have helped my students build important early literacy skills. They are also practicing listening, asking questions, making predictions, and talking about characters and events.\r\nReading in our classroom happens every day. During whole-group read alouds, we gather together to listen, talk, and interact with the story. My students love joining in on repeated words and phrases, pointing out details in the pictures, and sharing their own connections. We also use books in small groups and centers where students can explore stories with friends and practice new vocabulary.\r\nSeveral students have especially connected with these new books. Some of my quieter students are beginning to participate more during read alouds, while others are excited to retell stories using the pictures. It has been wonderful to watch their confidence grow and to see their love of books getting stronger each day.
