Seeing the donated coffee urn and cart helped my students connect the idea to what they would actually be doing. The parents were thrilled with this vocational project and the skills and experiences their children would be gaining by taking part in this project. \r\nWe are fully utilizing our donated resources to brew the coffee with the generous coffee urn and deliver the staff's coffee. The sales generated have allowed us to purchase the ongoing consumable supplies and products needed to keep our business going. \r\nMy students are gaining functional work habits and engaging in real world applications. They are learning task sequencing, money handling skills, and how to follow multi-step directions. Additionally, they are improving communication and social skills and building self-confidence through this project. Snacks can also create a positive and supportive environment, boosting student morale and motivation. \r\n\r\nThe STARR test is very stressful for all my students, and your thoughtful snack acted as a small reward or a break, which helped the students manage anxiety and feel more relaxed during the test.
