The resources I was able to purchase have allowed me to bring in artistic, hands-on projects that blend writing, math, and social-emotional learning in engaging and purposeful ways.\r\n\r\nThese projects help students connect academic skills to real life. Instead of simply solving problems or responding to prompts, students are reflecting on their goals, practicing gratitude, building empathy, and strengthening perseverance — all while applying grade-level writing and math skills. They might be solving multi-step math problems within a themed project, writing thoughtfully about character traits or personal growth, or creating artistic displays that showcase both their learning and their self-reflection.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting for my students is how these activities feel meaningful and personal. They love that they can express themselves creatively while still growing academically. The artistic components give students pride in their finished work, and the social-emotional focus gives them a safe space to think deeply about who they are and who they want to become.\r\n\r\nI've especially noticed students who need confidence boosts or extra engagement truly shine during these projects. Some of my quieter students have opened up through reflective writing, while others who thrive creatively have shown deeper academic understanding when given a more artistic outlet.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped create a classroom environment where learning is not only rigorous, but also reflective, creative, and heart-centered. Currently, we are in the middle of finishing up our Chinese New Year flip books that I purchased with the gift card from TPT. Students loved when I read aloud the book, The Runaway Wok which has engaging pictures showing life in China during the New Year celebrations. This book was interesting because the message of the book was about a greedy family that would not share their wealth with their neighbors. The magical Wok makes the greedy family share their food, money, and toys with their poor neighbors. We talked about the importance of sharing and helping one another. This week, students are making boxes out of the popsicle sticks you purchased for our class. This is a fun project and my students will decorate their boxes with our new Chinese stickers. I love giving my students different, engaging projects made possible by your kindness! I wish you could of seen their faces as they walked into our classroom with Chinese fans and vibrant red paper lanterns that are hanging from our ceiling.
