One especially meaningful moment was seeing students naturally encourage one another to use the space respectfully and comfortably, showing a sense of ownership and belonging.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new carpet, their excitement was immediate. They noticed how the classroom felt calmer, more inviting, and more \"like home.\" Several students shared that they felt more comfortable focusing and participating, especially during reading and reflection time. Students use the technology to analyze clues, apply math strategies, and explain their thinking step by step. This approach strengthens skills such as reasoning, perseverance, and making sense of word problems—skills that are essential for long-term math success.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is the mystery-based format. Instead of simply completing problems, they feel like detectives solving a case. The immediate feedback and visual elements keep them motivated and focused, while the challenge level encourages productive struggle. Many of the texts also introduce rich vocabulary and meaningful themes that spark thoughtful discussions and connections to students' own lives. As students explore different genres, they are learning that reading is not just something we do for school—it's something we do for enjoyment and discovery.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is active and joyful. Students read independently, with partners, and in small groups, often stopping to talk about characters, predict what might happen next, or share a favorite part. These books have made it easier to match students with texts that are just right for them, helping build confidence and stamina. I've noticed students choosing to read during free moments and eagerly recommending books to their classmates, which has strengthened our classroom reading community.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were once hesitant readers are especially enjoying these new books. They feel proud when they can finish a story, understand it, and talk about it with others. Because of you, our students now have access to 3D printers that are changing how they learn and engage with school in meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nThe 3D printers allow students to use technology as a learning and problem-solving tool. Students are designing, measuring, testing, and revising their own ideas. During our Space Unit, students used the printers to create rockets they designed themselves. This required them to apply science concepts, mathematical reasoning, and engineering skills as they turned digital designs into real, physical objects.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for students is seeing their ideas come to life. Watching a rocket they designed on a computer slowly print layer by layer is incredibly motivating. Students feel a strong sense of pride and ownership because each design is uniquely theirs. When something doesn't work as planned, they are eager to problem-solve, make changes, and try again—an important real-world skill.\r\n\r\nThese 3D printers will continue to be used for future projects, including designing Mars habitats, creating models, and tackling STEM challenges that connect learning to real-world applications.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has given our students hands-on experiences that spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Students are getting a small treat if they turn in the original pencils I give them every Wednesday. I love that students learn responsibility. All I have to say is I am collecting your pencils and not a single pencil is lost on my floor. \r\n My parents love the laminated homework/communication folders that I send home weekly. Since they are laminated, they last for the whole year and papers are neat and organized. Homework is easy to collect, and the students love the vivid color of their folders.\r\n The new privacy partitions replaced the ones that were torn, dirty, or falling apart after many years. These partitions prevent wandering eyes on a test which prevents cheating.\r\nAs you can see from the pictures, I put their name on each homework folder. I use these labels weekly for numerous projects. I also put the book level and quiz number on each classroom library book, so students can find and take a reading quiz quickly.
