Because of your generosity, our 8th grade CTE Technology students have been able to dive into coding and explore real-world careers using our new CoDrone EDU kits.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the drones as a hands-on way to introduce coding, while also connecting it to careers in technology fields. Students aren't just learning how to code—they're starting to understand how those skills apply to jobs like drone operation, programming, and even public safety.\r\n\r\nOne of our favorite projects so far was a drone obstacle challenge. Students had to code their drones to fly through hula hoops, which required careful control, problem-solving, and a lot of trial and error. It was exciting to watch them adjust their code, test it, and celebrate when they finally made it through successfully.\r\n\r\nWe then took it a step further with a real-world simulation. Students acted as police drone operators responding to an accident scene that we set up on a table. They had to code their drone to take off, fly to the scene, hover to \"survey\" the area, and then safely return to base. This required very precise coding, especially when it came to speed, distance, and timing. Watching them work through these challenges and improve with each attempt was incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this experience possible. Your support is helping students learn, grow, and see themselves in future technology careers.","fullyFundedDate":1771001511363,"projectUrl":"project/flying-into-stem-with-codrones/10016797/","projectTitle":"Flying Into STEM With CoDrones","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lindeman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9785223"},{"teacherId":4858224,"projectId":9463652,"letterContent":"I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous contributions to our classroom's library and cozy corner. Your support has transformed our learning space into a welcoming haven where students can curl up with a good book, explore new ideas, and develop a genuine love for reading. Every pillow, beanbag, and story added to our collection helps foster curiosity, creativity, and confidence in my students each day.\r\n\r\nThe cozy corner has quickly become a favorite part of our classroom—a place where students feel safe, calm, and eager to learn. Whether they're reading independently, sharing stories with friends, or reflecting quietly, the space nurtures not only literacy skills but also a sense of belonging. It's inspiring to see even my most reluctant readers light up with excitement as they settle in and discover the joy of a good book.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has done more than provide materials—it has created a warm and affirming environment where students feel seen, supported, and motivated to grow.
