Students in 2nd grade learned about waves (using the slinky), learned about photosynthesis of a plant and compared it to a microwave (making smores) to a solar over (making smores). Preschoolers created ways to clean their playground with the discovery of magnets based on the use of the iron filings. 4th-6th graders made massive explosions with vinegar and tests what makes a reaction happen faster. All of these learning opportunities are happening because of your generosity. Thank you for the abundance of joy and curiosity that you are creating with your donations. In early January our packages were delivered. My students had been confined to desks for seating. Also, those desks were not really the right sizes for their growing bodies. One of my students is as tall as I am and many are tiny for their age. Our foot bands are fabulous. My tiny people have a lovely little spot to put those wiggly feet.\r\n\r\nOur cushions are fabulous! As you can see, my kiddos take them and get comfy all over the classroom. I'm a teacher that lets them move around to get their work accomplished.\r\nThe rug is an added luxury. They did not have anywhere to sit if I wanted to share a story book. Now we gather together regularly to listen to picture books.\r\n\r\nMost of all, we have the movement and flexibility that 2nd grade students need to enjoy their learning.
