It was filled with so many great additions to our classroom, and most have been put to great use already. The students love using the pointers when we talk about places on the map. We have been using the colored chalk to do math work and write the date on the board. It certainly brightens the board. The pencil sharpener, post its, and tape are a must have, and have been used daily. \r\n\r\n I am always looking to add new books to my collection to bring the curriculum to life, and we have added plenty of them. Some we have had the chance to read, and some we will get to later like the book about swallowing a clover. It's something to look forward to. \r\n\r\n I don't think you realize what an impact you have made on my classroom and students. We put the dry erase markers to use right away. They just love the scratch and sniff bookmarks. I think they actually like those more than the books - haha. My students also thoroughly enjoy the STEM bins. They are a great addition to our early finisher activities. I have used the circle cutting mat, and I find that to be of great use. I am not sure how I would have been able to cut out circles for our crafts without the mat. I tried. I was able to make a kit for each student. they have them easily accessible to them on their desks. When it is time for math, they simply take out what they needs and get to work. Building independence is key to success. I start each morning, writing a message on the chart paper. We use this to identify sight words and express the routines of the day. I was able to have furniture that helped my room become a comfortable space for everyone.\r\n\r\nWhen my students saw colorful stools, bean bag chairs, a cozy library, and a warm pink chair for flexible seating, I knew they felt at home. Many of my students love taking breaks. They need a moment to reset and be ready to learn. The library carpet is the perfect space for them to sit. The bean bags allow students to relax. The pink chair adds to every cozy vibe. The classroom is perfect for taking a moment to relax, then get back to work. I can tell that my students are doing their best learning.\r\n\r\nIt may seem simple, to have a few new pieces of furniture, but it is extremely important. I cannot tell you how excited my students were when I told them they were \"allowed\" to color with markers. Not only did the simple use of markers make them happy, but the color options, styles, everything about the markers was exciting. Who knew something so simple could be so amazing. \r\n\r\nStudents use whiteboards each day for phonics and sometimes math. The expo marker stock I know have are going to allow us to keep working without any waiting for new markers. The sharpies have allowed my students to label their folders, water bottles, pencil boxes, and more. They can see the colorful labels around the classroom and build their responsibility labeling on their own! \r\n\r\nThe snacks have been a big help already as well. I was able to surprise my students with a snack when they thought they had none. It is so nice to know they have a place to get a snack without feeling left out or hungry. It may seem little, but the impact is very large. \r\n\r\nEvery single item within this project has brought my class more joy than I would have even expected. It makes me excited to have the chance to allow students to have great materials and snacks, and know I can restock and not need to worry about buying more.
