We can't wait to use the supplies this year. We will be using the supplies throughout the progression of the school year.\r\nIn the next couple weeks we will begin learning about the life cycle of frogs. We also read the classic children's series Frog and Toad. Students love these characters and now we can add a nonfiction element and tie in science as we learn about the similarities and differences in frogs and toads.\r\nIn a few months we will begin our embryology unit where we start with eggs and students eagerly await the hatching of the baby chicks. The books and materials will help students learn more about the life cycle of chickens and how they grow and change. I'm super excited for the egg models---so students can see what is happening during the 21 day period inside of the eggs. Students will also get the chance to \"adopt a chick\" to take home as a way to celebrate the end of the unit.\r\nIn the spring we will learn about about butterflies as we watch them change from tiny caterpillars into beautiful butterflies. Students will create hands on models to represent each stage of the metamorphosis of the butterflies.\r\nI'm also excited to add the ant colony into our classroom this year. I can't wait for students to watch how ants build their underground tunnels.\r\nYour support will add excitement and hands on learning into our classroom this year.
