As students fold, create, and manipulate their materials, they are able to see mathematical concepts take shape right in front of them.\r\n\r\nThe students were excited when they first saw the new materials and could not wait to begin using them. One of the most rewarding moments has been watching students work together, compare their creations, and explain the mathematics behind what they made. Students who may sometimes hesitate during a traditional math lesson have been eager to participate, experiment, and share their thinking. These resources have helped make geometry feel more approachable, creative, and fun while encouraging problem-solving and perseverance.\r\n\r\nNext, we will continue building on these experiences as students explore more complex geometric concepts and apply what they have learned to new hands-on challenges. My goal is for them to continue making connections between the shapes they create and the mathematics we study in class. These experiences have helped students make connections between concrete objects, pictures, and numbers while developing a deeper understanding of important math concepts.\r\n\r\nOne of the most rewarding changes I have seen is the increase in my students' confidence. Students who once hesitated to participate or were afraid of making mistakes are now more willing to try, explain their thinking, and work through challenging problems.
