Research suggests that giving students meaningful seating choices can support comfort, autonomy, and engagement when paired with clear expectations and routines. My students were so excited when they first saw the new materials! They immediately wanted to try the different seating options, and the classroom felt refreshed and welcoming. The chairs have given students more choices in finding a learning space where they can feel comfortable, focused, and ready to participate.\r\n\r\nThe math games have also brought learning to life in our classroom! Instead of math feeling like just another worksheet, students are moving, talking, problem-solving, and working together. During our math lessons, I have seen students become more willing to explain their thinking, try different strategies, and persevere when problems become challenging. Research on movement and collaboration in math classrooms suggests that structured opportunities for students to move and discuss strategies can support mathematical sense-making and engagement.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our classroom is becoming a place where students have more opportunities to learn in ways that work for them. Thank you so much for your generosity. My students are using this tool to practice geometry skills, coding skills, and math skills. Students have been given projects where they have to follow certain geometric parameters in order to design a 3D model in a Computer Aided Drafting program. For example, they might be required to use exactly six 90 degree angles in their final model or they might be required to design an element that is symmetrical. All of these projects are building understanding of the geometry vocabulary as well as helping student to form solid connections between abstract ideas and concrete models. Students are able to insert code, algebraic expressions, and utilize angles within the CAD programming in order to create their ideas. \r\n\r\nThe students are most excited about the fact that they are able to have an idea and bring it to life in a tangible object that is so popular right now. Students love being creative and exploring the possibilities of this new technology. This tool is most helpful to the students who struggle in math to build confidence with the topic. It provides them a way to learn the same skills without all of the additional obstacles of learning on paper.
